Check your syslog daemon and configuration.

Note that there are various incarnations these days, such as traditional
syslog, rsyslog, syslog-ng, possibly systemd - you need to know which
one your computer is using, and check and possibly adjust its
configuration (which is different between them).

Note also that some of the leafnode versions - you have not indicated
which you are using - permit redirecting logs to stderr by means of
running leafnode's programs with an "-e" option.  Note that no log files
are written in this case, unless you redirect stderr (and possibly use
the tee(1) utility).

Your leafnode(8) manual page will describe -e if it's supported.
