[leafnode-list] fetchnews via stunnel4 :-((((

Hi

I am trying to setup leafnode via  NNTPS tunnel to < Newsprovider>
so that fetchnews can get my news via dialup modem connect.
Simply enough one would guess. ;-)
Leafnode NNTP Daemon, version 1.9.54 is called through "xinetd"
System is  Suse8.2 Linux 2.4.20.

when I do /usr/local/sbin/fetchnews -vvvv as user news I get errors:

Jul  5 11:18:51 vitzlipu fetchnews[8725]: error: NNTP server went
away (server disconnect or timeout)
Jul  5 11:18:51 vitzlipu fetchnews[8725]: error: localhost: received
bogus greeting (498): (nil)
Jul  5 11:18:51 vitzlipu fetchnews[8725]: localhost: address list
exhausted without establishing connec
tion.

It doesn`t seem to "tunnel" through to my secure newsserver.
Although stunnel-4 is running without complaints.

I read all manpages concerning, plus leafnode-FAQ.html. Tried any
possible twist in my configs. 
It didn`t help
Now I am totally confused.

this is /etc/leafnode/config:

Whats wrong with that?
Can please somebody shed some light here?
