It needs to be converted to a new, more evenly distributed hashing for
the message.id/XXX/ subdirectories, which happens with one run thorugh
"texpire -r". This is formally a one-way operation, and I don't know
what happens if you try to go back to leafnode-1. Better back up your
entire spool directory if you intend to go back to version 1 later.
