What can't you configure? To get all the news into one place, I do the following:
In my newsreader, create an account called "leafnode"Its source, instead of being just a server, is 
127.0.0.1  port 119, no authentication.
Then you have the output of all servers in one place, and duplicate messages are removed.

It is a nice feature, isn't it? Still trying to figure out how to
configure it, though.
