[leafnode-list] posts to gmane go missing

I'm getting messages like this:

/etc/cron.daily/leafnode:
Some articles posted via Leafnode have been placed in the
failed.postings directory. This typically means that they were
rejected by one or more of the upstream news servers. Examining the
news log files should provide some indication as to why.

And, similarly, no response from gmane requesting authorization to post
to newsgroups. I had been blaming gmane, but now I'm wondering whether
some posts are failed.

I can't see why some posts would make it through to gmane while others
won't, but it seems worthwhile to look into.

I've read the manpage and looked at the docs at:

http://leafnode.sourceforge.net/doc_en/

Pardon, where's the log to look at?

thanks,

Thufir
