[leafnode-list] filtering newsgroups

I'm having trouble with setting up my filters file. I want to filter out 
messages crossposted to a specific group. 

I'm using leafnode 2.0.0.alpha20070602a

Things I've tried:

newsgroups = .*uk\.rec\.cycling.*
maxcrosspost = 1
action = kill
pattern = ^newsgroups:.*uk\.legal.* 
action = kill

newsgroups = .*uk\.rec\.ufo 
pattern = ^Subject:.*
action = kill
maxlines = 10 
action = kill
minlines = 12
action = kill

and I'm still getting items crossposted to UK.rec.ufo
