I don't really know anything about the various "aggregators" and
whatnot.  The bits I've seen seem to be online-oriented, where I
basically wanted a batch download (like rss2email but to news).

I don't think posting into local leafnode groups goes anywhere,
certainly my program doesn't send anything out.  If there's an email
address for the list in the rss then I guess I should put it in as a
Reply-To or something.  For myself in Gnus for that sort of thing I
usually set "group parameters" to force followups to a list.
