[leafnode-list] Disable deletion of articles with "illegal headers"?

I keep seeing "contained illegal headers" lines [1] in leafnode's logs
and I see that the articles in question are missing from the spool.

In the list archives from 2004 I found some explanations of "illegal
headers", but my problem is that I think some of the deleted articles
are in threads I'm trying to follow!  

Is it possible to disable the deletion of the articles so I can read
them anyway?
