I am not aware of any scripts that would parse the .newsrc.
If someone has a decent script to treat .newsrc, let me know and I may
consider setting a link to it.
Besides that, leafnode is currently designed as a software package for
multiple (albeit trusted) users, and such removal might impair other
user's spool, so personally I am not in favor of such a script. It might
be warranted if leafnode supported user-specific installation though
(this, in turn, may require that the newsreader can access non-standard
TCP ports). Doing so should not be a major effort for leafnode-2 (not in
FreeBSD's ports yet) but has not been attempted yet to my knowledge.
