leafnode 1.9.53 release candidate #3 is available at
http://home.pages.de/~mandree/leafnode/

It is available as .tar.bz2 source tarball
and as ready-to-go RPM for i486 compatible Linux machines with libpcre
or pcre installed and GNU libc 2.2.

Changes since 1.9.53.rc2:
* configure.ac: bump version.
* fetchnews.c: Try to make sure we don't pass 0 as 'last read from
  server' to getgroup().
* nntputil.c: xnntpreply: Log problems before returning 498
  (protocol error).
* nntpd.c: Split string for C89 conformance. - string literals
  should not exceed 509 chars.
* ChangeLog, NEWS: Update.
